The earliest cherry tree in Tokyo area

When the snow falls in the Tokyo area, it becomes news.　The city has few snow and lives a weak life to snow.
Cherry blossoms started to bloom here in Kawasaki on this day when a lttle snow fell in February and the coldness increased. I do not know if the type of flower is a Taiwan cherry or Kawazu cherry. Cherry blossoms are open for six minutes to bloom. When I see the cherry blossoms, I recall tanka poetry and Haiku. Japan wrote a phrase from long ago and loved cherry blossoms. Let me introduce some very famous phrases among them.

「久方の　光のどけき　春の日に　しづ心なく　花の散るらむ」
A calm spring day, where the sunshine is descending. However, although it is such a calm spring day, the cherry blossoms will not settle downing and will scatter petals.

「散ればこそ　いとど桜はめでたけれ　憂き世になにか久しかるべき」
Cherry blossoms having wonderful, because they be a scattered. There is a thing that will not change so in like cherry blossoms at  a acrid society.

「花見にと 群れつつ人の 来るのみぞ あたら桜の とがにはありける」
To see the cherry blossoms, a lot of people come to Ise. I had thinking that I want to spend quietly alone, but this noise is sinful to cherry blossoms.

「散る桜　残る桜も　散る桜」
My life is about to burn out. Even if my life is long, there is no difference in finishing my life like a scattering cherry blossoms.


東京地方の桜前線

東京地方は雪がぱらつくだけでニュースになるほど、雪が少なく、雪に弱い生活をおくっています。
２月に入り降りそうな雪の日に、ここ川崎では桜の花が咲き始めました。花の種類は寒緋桜なのか、それとも河津桜なのか、私には分かりません。今は５分、６分咲きに開いています。桜にちなんだ和歌、俳句が幾つか思い出されますが、昔から句を詠み桜を愛でていました。その中で大変有名な句の幾つかをご紹介しましょう。

「久方の　光のどけき　春の日に　しづ心なく　花の散るらむ」　紀友則(945'-907')

日の光が降りそそぐのどかな春の日。どうして落着くこともなく､桜は散っていくのだろうか。

「散ればこそ　いとど桜はめでたけれ　憂き世になにか久しかるべき」作者不明より

散るからこそ桜は素晴らしい。厳しい世の中で何がいったい長く変わらずに留まることがありましょうか。そのようなものは何もない。

「花見にと 群れつつ人の 来るのみぞ あたら桜の とがにはありける」　西行和尚(1118'-1190')

桜の花を見に大勢で伊勢にやって来る。独り静かに過ごしたいと思う私にとって、惜しむべきは桜の花よ。

「散る桜　残る桜も　散る桜」　良寛和尚(1758'-1831')

命が燃え尽きようとしている時、今まさに命が長らえたところで、散りゆく命に変わりはない。
