Many people stop by Kiyomizu Temple if you go to Kyoto. It is surprisingly fascinated by the beauty, landscape and scene of the temple there. However, as you go up to Kiyomizu Temple, the cityscape of Kyo you can see also has many enchantments that make your heart stand out.
One of them is an old long-established 「Shoin Dou」 unchanged for 55 years.
Standing in front of this shop, I was attracted to the earthenware which was put on the front of the store.
When it enters while push the goodwill away, it is a crockery which was arranged earthenware. There are various colors and shapes such as teaware, dishes and bowls.
Among them, I got a cup that pottery with vivid colors of earth.
It seemed as though the earthenware that was slightly larger but familiar to the hand conveyed the enchantment of Kyoto.

If I asked to the owner of the shop, this cup is said to be a work of a traditional craftsman living in Kyoto, Takada Garaku. It is said that it is characterized by kneading the soil sampled at the mountain in Kyoto, firing at high temperature without applying glaze. I think that he has unique View of the world. Because he do not put glaze on the pottery.
I brought it home as a souvenir. To celebrate the Narrow road on Kyo which will revive every time I eat with this dishware.

Long-established store on Kyo
